ChatGPT has effectively superseded Google and Yahoo as the primary starting point for self-diagnosis. This shift is the inevitable consequence of its extreme accessibility.

Not surprisingly, an increasing number of patients consult their doctors after this Digital Prep to confirm their findings. Unfortunately, a growing number of individuals are skipping the professional consultation entirely, relying instead on whatever the algorithm prioritizes.

The danger with AI-driven tools is that they curate information from top-tier search results without the critical discernment of a clinician.

Many fail to realize that diagnosing a syndrome or disease is a rigorous, multi-layered process. It requires active inquiry: correlating clinical signs with subjective symptoms, physical findings, and a comprehensive patient history. Social and medical habits; such as alcohol consumption or smoking must be factored in.

Only after conducting a series of targeted tests can a differential diagnosis be formalized and an effective treatment plan presented.
